About

Hello! My name is Karen Blackburn and I am a creative person living in Chicago. This is a place for some of what I think and much of what I make.

As a result of my employment and volunteer experiences in the United States, England, Mozambique, and Mexico, I am committed to working with children and passionate about artistic endeavors:  sewing, quilting, knitting, writing, reading, and ballet. Many of these pursuits started when I was a child, selling dolls made out of toothpicks and embroidery floss and dancing annually in The Nutcracker.

It is a privilege and honor for me to create for others, and I have done custom work for over 20 years, making everything from duvet covers and drapes to cozy knits and dolls.  I live my life with minimal technology and a wealth of creativity, and I raise and educate my children with these values (among others) in mind.

I am married to my love, homeschool my three daughters, teach ballet, write to penpals, and try my best to stay present.  Because time travel, as we all know, is very hard.

Thank you for stopping by - drop me a line anytime! Peace & be well.
